Mythology:

In Hindu India, Shakti (pronounced shock’tee), the Goddess, is active, powerful, vital – the animating force of the universe. The masculine is the passive, inert, dormant force. Each Shakti has her God with whom she unites in sexual union. Without union, neither can do anything. To the Tantric mystics, the ultimate union with Shakti happens at the moment of death. Shakti, portrayed here seated within the luminous world egg, is protected by the serpent, kundalini, the emanation of her own divine energy.

Meaning of the Card:

Shakti explodes into your life to energize and vitalize you. The way to wholeness for you now lies in learning to work with Shakti: divine, cosmic, orgasmic Goddess energy. Have you been feeling tired? Do life and all its demands exhaust you? Do you keep giving your energy, your vitality, without taking in, recharging, revitalizing? Perhaps there is something you want to manifest but don’t feel you have enough energy to do it. Shakti says there is abundant energy available for you. All you need to do is learn how to connect with it.

Find a time and a place where you will not be disturbed. Sit or lie comfortably with your spine straight and close your eyes. Take a deep breath and, as you release it slowly, feel yourself pulling your stress and tension off over your head, as if it were a tight-fitting dress. Toss it away, far from you.

Continue to breathe in a relaxed and even way. Picture, sense, or feel energy vibrating in the core of the earth. Imagine a long hose from your vulva, extending down into the earth. When you inhale, you open the valves on the hose and earth energy comes pulsing up. Draw that energy up into your first chakra in a way that feels good. As the energy reaches your first chakra, it explodes into the color red, so that your first chakra is filled with spinning red energy. Take a moment to experience the feelings and sensations as your first chakra is filled with red vital energy. One sensation may be that you are sitting on a hose of continually flowing red energy that keeps pumping into your first chakra.

When ready, draw up the red energy from the first chakra to the second chakra where your womb is. Here the energy explodes filling your second chakra with vibrating, orange energy. Take time to experience the delicious sensations of having both your chakras filled with revitalizing energy.

Now draw the red energy up from the first chakra into the orange second chakra and up into the third chakra, which is located in your solar plexus. As the energy reaches your third chakra, it explodes into the color yellow, so that your third chakra is pulsing with electric yellow energy. Take time to enjoy having three chakras filled with invigorating energy.

Now feel the energy flowing up through each chakra to the fourth chakra, located in the middle of your chest roughly where your heart is. As the energy reaches your fourth chakra it explodes into the color emerald green, so that your fourth chakra is filled with vibrant emerald green energy. Take time to feel the pleasurable sensations of having four chakras filled with vital energy.

Feel, sense or see the energy moving through you to your fifth chakra at your throat. The energy reaching your throat fills your fifth chakra with electric blue energy. Take a moment to experience the pleasure of having five chakras filled with energy.

The energy oozes through you till it reaches your sixth chakra the place between your eyebrows of your “third eye,” where it explodes in the color purple. Allow yourself to feel the pulsing of energy in all six chakras.

The energy now slowly moves up through your chakras, building in intensity from the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, till it reaches the seventh chakra located at the crown of your head, where it explodes into white iridescent light. You feel powerfully charged with energy. All your chakras are crackling and vibrating with delicious, pleasurable energy. Stay with this for as long as is appropriate for you. Be sure to drink it into all your cells.

Now, see, sense, or feel the energy of the universe. Is it hot and fiery, like the sun? or silvery cool like moonbeams? Or quiet and immense like the expansiveness of space? As you inhale, draw that energy into your seventh, or crown chakra. Feel the earth energy and cosmic energy make love in your crown chakra, filling that chakra with the joy of union.

Allow the exquisiteness of the cosmic energy to pour down into the sixth chakra, gently filling and caressing, penetrating and blending with the earth energy, until you feel the sixth chakra explode with the union of earth and cosmos.

Now the energy from the cosmos slowly and sweetly moves into the fifth chakra, where it combines with the earth energy. The cosmic energy moves into your fourth, or heart, chakra. There it combines with the emerald green earth energy, until both are exploding in the passion of their union and you experience bliss. The cosmic energy is now pulled into the third chakra where it unites with the earth energy, until both are swirling, twirling, whirling, doing their dance of love, and you are feeling ecstasy. The cosmic energy pours into the second chakra. It meets the earth energy and both energies make love until you are rocked with bliss. When the cosmic energy enters the first chakra and unites with the earth energy, there is an orgasmic explosion. You feel ecstatic. All your chakras have experienced cosmic orgasm and you feel energized, relaxed and totally refreshed.

When you feel filled, it is time to cover your chakras. Beginning with your seventh chakra, imagine a cap or lid being placed over the chakra to keep the energy inside you. After capping the seventh chakra, cap the sixth, then the fifth, fourth, third, second and first. Take a deep breath and open your eyes. Welcome back!
